About MeHello, my name is Kate!
I'm 7 years old and I love dancing and performing. I've always had a moderately severe allergy to animals and their dander ever since I was young. My allergy can make me cough, wheeze, have itchy eyes, get hives(bumpy red rash), have a runny or blocked nose and make me sneeze. I have to stay away from dander and pets or else I can have a reaction. |
About My Allergy
My allergy is a moderately severe allergy to animals and their dander.
If you have an allergy to one animal it doesn't mean you have an allergy to all of them, but it's more likely to have an allergy to something like cats if you have an allergy to dogs.
Pet allergies are very common but they tend to be mild allergies that just cause sneezing, a runny nose and sore eyes.
Hives as a reaction and difficulty breathing are more rare but can still be caused by exposure to animals and their dander.

Dealing With My Allergy
Every day I have to be careful of my allergy and stay alert.
With my allergy I need to check when I go to friends' houses to check if they have any pets.
I also carry antihistamine just in case I have to be around animals so I don't get as sick.
